When in Rome...

Today we decided to do as the Romans do, not least because I am bodily exhausted being a tourist!
We travelled by local bus, and that is an experience in itself. The roads are all cobbled so the trip was one bone jarring, rattling, noisy event. I feared for my teeth!
We wandered around the Colosseum area looking at things we had seen before and the occasional new thing. In a park we came across a bust of Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary International.
At lunch time we did as the locals do and sat down for a very pleasant lunch at a trattoria. Then we got the bus home for the other great Italian thing - the pausa. I managed to sleep for over one and a half hours.
Having been to the supermarket to shop and had our daily gelati, we are now sitting on our terrace drinking Prosecco.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
