The Tuscan sun continues to shine with great intensity

Today was predicted to be 40 degrees celcius again so we didn't have any great plans.

Mid morning we went into town to check up on bus timetables, to buy yet another map of Toscana and of course, to have a gelato. My flavours today were yoghurt, fig & walnut and  white chocolate. We sat out under the patio umbrellas watching people who in Imprunetta, are mainly locals.

Later we drove to Strada in Chianti, the nearest hamlet to us on the road to the Chianti Classico Wine Region. It is a modern little town now, almost a dormitory suburb of Florence which is only 12 kms away.

We had a light lunch at the pasticceria bar, and sat outside to enjoy the view across the olive and fruit trees of the next doors garden. My prosciuto and mozzarella panino was perfect.

Notice the dead pot plants behind ... it is very sad to see almost all pot plants looking like this because of the contining extreme heat, no rain and no water to be wasted on plants.

Returning home we dived back into our books until 6 pm when the shade had reached our garden setting.

In the week before we left home I had to buy a new Samsung Tablet as I was afraid the old one would collapse while we were away. This meant a new connector for my camera card reader too. All seemed to be going well until the last few days when I am finding that the blog is taking up many hours with issues with photos and also the internet dropping out. Unfortunately I may have to reduce or give away this exercise. We shall see!
