Transit Città della Pieve to the Eternal City, Rome

 Another transit day so up early to be ready to depart between 9.30 and 10 am. Having had cereal the last few days, I went to the bar for an Italian breakfast this morning.

Whilst sitting out in front of the bar, into the piazza walked a man playing an accordion. It was barely 8 am. Below, some-one stopped to talk and the accordionist just played on. A little later he and a client at another bar were singing together.

After a phone call from our host ' Ciao, goodbye, see you later, ciao, ciao, ciao' , Kel demonstrated the real value of going to the gym every day. Shoulder bag, back pack and two suitcases ... and thirty steps.

We had quite large time gaps between sectors today but we returned the car to Chiusi without mishap, caught the 1 pm train to Rome Termini and arrived at our hotel of 24 years by 3 pm.

The weather was threatening but we were still able to enjoy our balcony, 501 this time.

We had a pasta meal at a restaurant where Kel had previously bought a takeaway pizza, and got into conversation with one of the staff. It was very good to order just a pasta and a prosecco each and be given a bruschetta to start and a limoncello to finish. Friendly service and you are sure to come back.
