Organ music ... electronic music

Last night after returning from Assisi we went to the Musica Insieme presentation at the Collegiate Church of San Michele. It was an organ recital by Paul Tarling with music mostly dating from the 1600s interspersed by Philip Glass's Metamorphoses from 1988.
The very interesting thing for me was that the Morettini organ in the church was made by Angelo Morettini of Perugia in 1835, making this organ 183 years old and still playing superbly. It is not used for services but apparently the Morettini organ aficionados gather annually to enjoy this gem.

Domestic duties day again. One thing that I find difficult here is the washing. Small front loader machines are installed in the kitchen or bathroom and take hours to wash one load. However drying the clothes is another thing. The traditional way is to hang the clothes on a line from an upstairs window, another method now being used is a small portable line dryer on the balcony or inside.

I am very pleased that we don't have to wash the sheets and towels when we stay in rental properties in Italy.

Tonight was the last of the Mosaico Sonoro music in the piazza events for the summer. The covers band Senza Fissa Dimora played to an appreciative crowd of dancers.
