With all this accomplished we went for a drive at 2 pm as we had been unable to get a car parking space in the long term parking bays and had to take a 90 minute spot. We drove around some back roads around Paciano then called in for a gelato.
I looked inside a door which is usually closed and this is what I saw.
San Giovanni church has portions of frescoes dating from the 1450s. The church is now part of a museum scheme to protect local treasures.
You just never know when something unexpected will turn up in Italy.
Tonight being Thursday was Mosaico Sonoro night in Panicale - free music in the piazza. The entertainment was a seven piece swing band called Swingle Kings. They were very entertaining and people felt the urge to get up and dance on the cobblestones. Always a good sign.
