The succulents greenhouse in the Botanical Gardens of Cagliari

The succulents greenhouse in the Botanical Gardens in Cagliari houses about 200 species, many of which came from a private collection in 1989. These arid environment examples are from many geographic areas and display many particular forms and structures to save and store water. There is also an extensive outdoor collection of larger cacti and succulents in a rock garden.

It was evident that many of the plants had flowered in the last couple of weeks but some were still in bloom. Both the flowers and the different structures made for interesting photography.
