Seville

North east Victorians can only dream of the beauty of a train trip such as we experienced today! The trains in Spain are clean, comfortable, convenient, fast and on time. Today we covered 472 kms in two and a quarter hours, reaching 300 km/h. Additionally a movie was shown and hostesses came along selling hot and cold drinks. Think aeroplanes but with much more space.

Arriving in Seville we did our usual walk to the apartment where we received a very warm welcome. The apartment is in the Santa Cruz area and no more than 10 minutes from all the attractions. Recently restored, it is another gem and will suit us admirably for the next four nights.

It is the simple things that confuse you when your language skills are basic. A trip to the supermarket this afternoon reminded us how difficult it is to buy the correct milk.

The neighbourhood is very inviting with more interesting architecture, a beautiful park, a shady plaza for crowd watching and many restaurants and tapas bars.

This photo shows the entrance into Calle Mariscal (our street) ... definitely no cars here.

We took an evening orientation walk through the old city. Seville certainly has the Wow Factor! We are not yet sure what all these beautiful places are but here are a few.

Tomorrow we will discover more.
