The Kimberley in north west Western Australia - another bucket list adventure part 4

An early start today as we had lots of driving ahead of us.

Views from the window - leaving the National Park and endemic plants like kapok, bloodwood, bauhenia and snappy gum.

Morning tea at Hall's Creek, and an opportunity to shop for essentials and luxuries (like Diet Coke & chocolate and aboriginal art). Wi Fi and 4G were also appreciated.

Our next adventure was to Mimbi Caves, on an indigenous property.

After a walk into the caves we were introduced to the smoke ceremony of welcome by Andy no.2.

These caves are a precious collection of subterranean caves with aboriginal rock art and fish fossils. They are part of the Devonian Reef, 350 million years old and contain not only the art and fossils but cave formations such as
stalactites and shawls.

Back out of the caves we were treated to billy tea and damper and some more  stories from the traditional owners.

Our last night was back at Fitzroy Crossing and after dinner together at the hotel we willingly opted for the swags under the boab tree again.
