We spent at least 45 minutes in the car park at the port at San Feliciano today watching the storm pass across Isola Polvese and on to the mountains to the east. Visibility was down to zero at times. During this weather the ferry came in and offloaded a crowd of families, dogs and bikes - all wrapped up in their beach towels and soaking wet as they passed our car. Sunday is the best day to see Italian families at play. I don't have any photos of lightning as I don't like lightning as a subject matter.

All of this weather spoilt our plans for pizzas at Il Pellicano or somewhere else along the lake. We came home and I cooked us a meal. Incidentally, the temperature only dropped a couple of degrees, to 30.
Fresh trofie pasta with an onion and pancetta sauce
Pannacotta
The best part about today's weather is that it IS raining. The garden here at Villa Adriana is parched and many shrubs have already died. The vegetable garden is a sorry sights too. Renato, who cares for the grounds here, will be able to have a day off tomorrow.
