Wall to Wall Street Art Festival Benalla 2017

Very belatedly I am posting about the Wall to Wall Street Art Festival in Benalla 2017. This year we were delighted to be in town all the week-end so we saw all the works in progress.

It is a fascination to see these artists working on such large walls, and often up on a forklift. Their methods of getting their work started on the walls, as well as the different methods of applying the paint show amazing skill.

For me, the most fascinating was the realization that from just looking at a photo on a mobile phone these talented people could create a giant picture in perfect perspective.

The crowds loved watching the street art appearing before their eyes. In this blog I shall post photos of the works in progress and the festival fun surrounding the event. The next blog post will show the finished results. Wow!

Not all the works were big this year, some small and quirky things appeared around town as well.

Many of the artists worked into the night to get the work done in time.

By day the crowds could sit and soak up the atmosphere, by night the hubs turned into venues with food, drinks and live music.

In my next post I will show the end results of another fantastic Wall to Wall Street Art Festival in Benalla.
