We're going cruising

We are going cruising the Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas for a week. We have only ever been on one short cruise out of Melbourne so we are interested to see how we like the cruise life.

Our ship, the MSC Sinfonia, sails from Venice and will return to Venice a week later. We went on board at 1 pm in readiness for a 4.30 pm sailing. The Sinfonia is a medium sized cruise ship with 2679 passengers and 750 staff.

As we sailed out the Guidecca Canal the views were excellent. Venice is a spectacular place.

Then it was time for a pino colada before dinner.

Our allocated table for dining was in Il Galleone Restaurant with our dining companions all from Australia, and all a little younger than us! Our wait staff were from India and Cuba and were very attentive. An enjoyable three course meal helped the group bond quite quickly.

A very good start as we drifted to sleep with not a hint of sea movement.
