An earthquake but no rain

This morning we woke to no water. (Have you read 'Summer's Lease'?) Anyway our troubled host said he would ring the plumber on Monday. Great, we thought, just when we didn't do any dishes yesterday!  Later he discovered that the main tap had been turned off at the gate. It took a few hours to refill the tanks but all was well by early  afternoon.

At noon exactly I felt a terramoto, an earthquake. The familiar rumbling booming sound, some rattling and that queezy feeling. I quickly looked on line where it told me it was a 2.7 magnitude centred about 2 kms from Impruneta. It was at a depth of 8.3 kms. Considered to be a minor occurence, it was still a bit exciting. Then 27 minutes later there was another measuring 2.4. Although not really in the earthquake zone, I read that Impruneta had several earthquakes in May this year measuring in the 3s.

Enough excitement for one day!

However excitement was brewing in the afternoon because the weather forecast was for rain and it is desperately needed here in central Italy. The dark clouds came over, thunder rumbled for an hour or so but nothing ...niente.
