Granada - Generalife and more

We had purchased a second ticket for the Alhambra complex (minus the Nasrid Palaces) to use today, giving us free time to roam and enjoy more of the gardens especially. As it was quite hot today that was a good plan.

We re-visited the areas that we could access and took more complex routes through the gardens. They are delightful! Some of the special plants include a 200 year old magnolia grandiflora, a similar aged wisteria, sequoia trees, meadow flower beds planted with seeds of varieties found by archaeologists on site, roses, an oleander walk and lots of brilliant purple flowers that offset the red walls so well. The sound of running water is constant and creates a peaceful environment. There are reflection pools, fountains, pretty horizontal waterways and even steps with a water handrail.

Our last night in Spain. We went for tapas at a place recommended by our friends Sue & Noel then as it was still in the 30s we strolled about with the locals, watched some flamenco, walked through the Moroccan bazaar and ate gelato. A good way to end fifteen days in Spain.

  1. Thank you for the wonderful insights to your 15 days in Spain. I've loved seeing the things I've not experienced, as well as the familiar places I have seen.
