Yesterday Kel went out looking for a good place to walk each morning and he found a picturesque route close by. It doesn't have the challenges of the Paciano or Missiano roads but that suits me. This one has some 'strada bianca' (white unsealed road), all round views, it takes us through farm land and residential areas with great vegetable gardens, past Il Poggio winery and into Macchie village, it is 2.5 kms long. That's a short walk compared with our usual routine but combine that with visiting hill top villages and living in a two storey house, and that should be enough exercise to offset the gelato intake.

Thursday evening means music in the piazza so this evening we went first to Aldo's Bar for a drink and then to Il Gallo nel Pozzo for dinner. There is nothing so good as the aroma of fresh black truffles.
As usual, the band set up on the steps of the fountain and entertained the large crowd. Tonight's band was Four Seasons with an excellent female singer doing blues and swing music. The crowd was well entertained at this free event.
